We have been learning about contour lines on a OS map and found out that the area in the Lake District is full of steep land compared to the land in Skelmersdale.

Design and Technology

It was great fun designing and making our Christmas puddings

Eco Homework

Great work on your Eco homework, some informative posters and some amazing ideas on how to reuse plastic from place mats to pencil holders.

In science, we carried out an investigation into shadows. We wanted to know if they changed length. We wanted it to a fair test so we kept the torch the same and the object we used to make a shadow.

In History, we have been looking at significant women in history. We started by looking at Emmeline Pankhurst and the impact she had on British history. So as part of our poetry unit in English, we decided to learn The March of the Women, a song written for the Suffragettes.

Reading our Class Novel

We have been reading There’s a boy in the girls’ bathroom as our class novel and looking at the transformation on Bradley Chalkers throughout the book.

We looked at the negative things that people see and think of him and put them on the outside of the outline. Then we looked at the positive things about Bradley and put them on the inside of the outline as not everyone gets to see his caring side.

In RE, we were looking at important milestones in our lives and in the lives of Hindus. We looked at the sixteen Samskaras, which is the name for their important milestones, and put them in chronological order.

Roald Dahl Day

Look at some of the outfits! We are celebrating Roald Dahl Day.

In geography, we are learning about National Parks. We were coming up with reasons why they are called ‘breathing spaces’. Using our maps, we had to identify which National Park was being described.

In science, we are learning about light. We have learnt that light travels in straight lines through some of the investigations we have carried out.

Lathom Maths Challenge

Well done to Erik, Cris, Alex and Adam, who took part in the Lathom Maths Challenge and came 3rd. There were 10 other schools there and they worked really well as a team, we are very proud of them.
