Hillside Community Primary School

At Hillside Community Primary School, we believe that the voice of our children is central to shaping our school, curriculum and culture. We are committed to providing a wide range of opportunities for all pupils to share their thoughts, opinions and experiences.

We value every child’s contribution and ensure that their views are listened to, respected and acted upon.

At Hillside, we have a School Council, Curriculum Council, Eco Council, Sports Council and Well Being & Mental Health Champions. We are also members of SHARES Pupil Parliament.

Through these groups, we enable children to:

• play an active role in school decision-making
• develop leadership skills
• build confidence and independence
• work collaboratively with staff and peers

We believe that every voice matters and that empowering pupils in this way supports both their learning and their wellbeing.
